Westminster Dog Show 2027: Tickets, Javits vs MSG, Schedule & Best in Show
The 151st Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show runs January 30 and February 1–2, 2027 in New York City. The most important planning fact is that Westminster is split across two venues and multiple ticketed sessions: daytime competition is at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, while February 1–2 evening Group judging and Best in Show are at Madison Square Garden. Tickets for one venue do not admit you to the other, and even the January 30 Javits daytime ticket does not include the evening Masters Agility Finals. Choose the exact session first, then buy through the current official ticket page.
The 151st show is not a continuous four-day event; there is no public Westminster competition day listed for Jan 31.
Masters Agility/Canine Celebration on Jan 30; breed judging and Junior Showmanship preliminaries on Feb 1–2.
Group judging is at MSG; Best in Show is crowned during the Feb 2 evening program.
Javits tickets do not grant MSG access and MSG tickets do not grant Javits access.
Westminster currently advertises 200+ breed competitions, seven Group competitions and more than 3,000 top-winning dogs.
Group judging and Best in Show move to Netflix live in 2027; daytime coverage is scheduled through Tudum and Westminster channels.
January 30: Canine Celebration at the Javits Center
Saturday, January 30 is the Canine Celebration day at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. The official schedule lists Masters Agility preliminaries from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., plus Flyball, demonstration programming and other daytime activities.
Doors open at 7 a.m. for the daytime session. The Masters Agility Finals are a separate evening session at Javits, scheduled for 7–9 p.m.; the official ticket page says the daytime ticket does not include the evening finals.
Do not buy the Jan 30 daytime ticket assuming it includes the Agility Finals. They are separate ticketed sessions.
February 1: daytime breeds at Javits, evening Groups at MSG
On Monday, February 1, Javits hosts Hound, Toy, Non-Sporting and Herding breed judging plus Junior Showmanship preliminaries. Doors open at 7:30 a.m.; judging is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The evening moves to Madison Square Garden. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and Hound, Toy, Non-Sporting and Herding Group judging begins at 7:30 p.m., with the current ticket page listing the evening through 11 p.m.
If you want both daytime breed judging and evening Groups, you need separate Javits and MSG tickets.
February 2: Sporting, Working and Terrier — then Best in Show
Tuesday daytime at Javits features Sporting, Working and Terrier breed judging plus Junior Showmanship preliminaries. Doors open at 7:30 a.m. and judging is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The final evening is at Madison Square Garden. Doors open at 6 p.m.; Junior Showmanship Finals begin at 7 p.m., followed by Sporting, Working and Terrier Group judging. The seven Group winners then compete for Best in Show.
For the classic Westminster finale, February 2 evening at MSG is the session that includes Best in Show.
There is no single all-access Westminster ticket
Westminster’s official ticket page explicitly warns that the 2027 show uses two separate venues and distinct ticketing platforms. A Javits ticket does not grant admission to Madison Square Garden and an MSG ticket does not grant admission to Javits.
MSG currently offers a two-day pass option for the February 1–2 evening programs. For groups of nine or more at MSG, Westminster directs buyers to the official group-sales contact.
Start with the exact competition you want to see, not with a generic “Westminster ticket” search.
The benching area is a major reason to choose daytime Javits
Westminster is a benched show. On February 1 and 2, the official schedule lists the Javits benching area as a place where guests can meet, pet and learn about the dogs, with formal benching hours from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The MSG evening ticket page specifically notes that benching is not open to the public there. If meeting breeds up close matters more than the arena-style finale, daytime Javits is the stronger session.
Families deciding between daytime and evening should compare “meet the dogs” access at Javits against Group/Best in Show spectacle at MSG.
Use transit; spectator shuttles are not part of the public plan
For the Javits Center, Westminster recommends mass transit and lists the 7 train to 34 St–Hudson Yards as the direct subway option. Madison Square Garden is at Penn Station, served by multiple subway, LIRR, NJ Transit and Amtrak routes.
Westminster’s spectator FAQ says transportation between Javits and MSG is only available for exhibitors. Visitors should therefore plan their own subway/walking route between the venues rather than expecting an event shuttle.
Leave a real dinner/transfer buffer between a full Javits day and an MSG evening instead of treating the venues as one campus.
How to watch the 2027 show without attending every session
Westminster says Netflix is the new live home for the 2027 Group judging and Best in Show. Daytime breed competitions are scheduled to stream through Tudum and Westminster’s own channels.
That split makes it possible to attend the session that matters most in person and follow other competition remotely rather than buying every venue/date combination.
Recheck the official viewing schedule close to the show because exact streaming windows can be updated.
