Privacy Policy
NYC Dayline is an information-first publication. This policy describes the site’s basic data practices, including technical server logs, the current tag-management setup and how future integrations should be disclosed.
Basic server and security logs
Like most websites, the hosting and delivery infrastructure may process technical information such as IP address, browser or device information, requested URLs, timestamps and error data for security, reliability and server operations.
Google Tag Manager and measurement
NYC Dayline currently loads Google Tag Manager (GTM) as a tag-management layer. GTM is used to load and manage measurement or integration tags; the exact information sent to a third party depends on which tags are configured and active.
Depending on the configured tag, technical data can include the page URL, referrer, browser or device information, IP-derived information and other event data. Some tags managed through GTM may set or read cookies or similar identifiers when they are configured to do so. The policy should be updated whenever the active tag setup materially changes how reader data is processed.
Optional browser features
If a future NYC Dayline tool asks for browser permissions such as location, the purpose of that permission should be explained at the point of use. Readers should be able to decline optional permissions and continue using the rest of the publication.
No user accounts at launch
NYC Dayline does not currently require readers to create an account to read guides, use calculators or browse public information. The site does not currently provide reader profiles or a login-based personalization system.
External links
Guides link to government agencies, transit authorities, museums, attractions, mapping services and other external sources. Once you follow an external link, the destination site’s own privacy and cookie practices apply.
Public information sources
Some pages can use public datasets, public-service feeds or official sources to provide city information. Those sources are used to populate editorial information and are not intended to create individual reader profiles.
Advertising, affiliates and future integrations
If NYC Dayline adds display advertising, affiliate tracking, newsletters, accounts or other integrations that materially change reader data processing, this policy should be updated when those systems go live. The same rule applies when the measurement tags managed through GTM change in a material way.
Changes to this policy
The policy may change as the publication adds features or legal requirements change. Material changes should be reflected on this page rather than relying on an outdated launch statement.
