For airport travelers, “Jamaica” usually means this rail/AirTrain transfer complex rather than the separate Jamaica Center subway terminal.
Jamaica Station and Jamaica Center are not the same station
The subway stop connected to the AirTrain/LIRR complex is Sutphin Blvd–Archer Av–JFK Airport on the E, J and Z lines.
Jamaica Center–Parsons/Archer is farther east and does not directly connect to the JFK AirTrain terminal. Read the full station name before leaving the subway with luggage.
Choose LIRR or subway based on your Manhattan destination
LIRR can be a fast option toward major Manhattan rail hubs, while the E/J/Z can be less expensive and may place you closer to a hotel depending on the destination.
