NYBG Holiday Train Show 2026: Dates, Tickets, Closed Days & Getting There
The New York Botanical Garden Holiday Train Show runs from November 14, 2026 through January 10, 2027 in the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory. NYBG says the 2026/27 edition features nearly 200 New York landmark replicas built from plant materials, with model trains moving through the display. As of September 12, 2026, NYBG has not opened general 2026 ticket sales on the event page; the official action is still “Sign Up for Ticket Alerts.” That makes old 2025 prices unreliable for this season. Plan around the confirmed dates, real December closures and transport first, then use the official event page for live ticket inventory when sales open.
The 2026–27 Holiday Train Show runs November 14, 2026 through January 10, 2027.
NYBG says the replicas are made from plant materials and include new surprises for 2026/27.
The exhibition is centered in the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory.
As of Sep 12, the official 2026 event page has not published general sale pricing or live inventory.
Harlem Line local service runs from Grand Central to Botanical Garden Station.
NYBG says to allow extra walking time while the Botanical Garden Station pedestrian overpass is closed for accessibility work.
The 2026/27 dates are confirmed; ticket prices are not
NYBG has confirmed November 14, 2026 through January 10, 2027 for the Holiday Train Show. The current event page describes the exhibition and offers a ticket-alert signup, but it does not yet publish general 2026 admission prices or a live date-by-date ticket calendar.
Do not use archived 2025 prices as if they were current. When 2026 inventory opens, compare the official date-specific checkout because admission products, member benefits, peak-date pricing or evening options can differ by date.
Until the 2026 checkout is live, the only defensible price statement is that current-season pricing has not yet been published on the official event page.
The show uses nearly 200 NYC landmark replicas
NYBG says the 2026/27 display brings nearly 200 landmark replicas to life inside the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory, with model trains traveling through New York-inspired scenes.
The replicas are constructed from plant parts such as palm fronds, pinecones and cinnamon sticks. The official page also says the new season includes 2026/27 surprises, so returning visitors should not assume the installation is identical to last year.
December has five confirmed closed days
NYBG’s December 2026 calendar marks the Garden closed on December 7, 14, 21, 25 and 28. The Holiday Train Show appears on the surrounding open dates.
Christmas Day is therefore not an NYBG option in 2026. This matters because many generic holiday itineraries still suggest the Garden without checking the actual calendar.
For a December trip, choose the NYBG date from the official month calendar before building restaurant or Midtown plans around it.
Metro-North is usually the simplest Manhattan-to-NYBG option
NYBG says the Metro-North Harlem local line takes about 20 minutes from Grand Central Terminal to Botanical Garden Station. The station is directly across from the Garden’s Mosholu Entrance.
Through 2026, MTA accessibility work is changing the pedestrian route at Botanical Garden Station. NYBG says the pedestrian overpass is closed and southbound riders should follow the posted detour via the Bedford Park Boulevard bridge and around the NYBG Parking Garage.
Add 10–15 minutes to the station walk while construction is active, especially if you have a timed admission slot.
Subway works too, but it is not a direct front-gate ride
NYBG directs B, D and 4 riders to Bedford Park Boulevard. From there, use the Bx25 or Bx26 east to the Mosholu Entrance, or walk roughly 20 minutes down Bedford Park Boulevard and then to Southern Boulevard.
The 2 train to Allerton Avenue is another daytime option, followed by a walk to the East Gate. Check live MTA service before leaving because weekend and holiday construction can change the practical best route.
Do not pair the Bronx visit with an overly tight Midtown reservation
The Holiday Train Show is not a quick Midtown stop. Travel to the Bronx, Garden entry, walking inside NYBG and the Conservatory visit all need real time.
If you also want the Rockettes, Rockefeller Center or Bryant Park that day, keep the second fixed reservation later rather than trying to compress NYBG between tightly timed Manhattan attractions.
For families, one strong Bronx anchor plus a flexible evening usually creates a better day than three fixed holiday tickets across different parts of the city.
