Battery Park City gives Lower Manhattan a calmer west-side edge. Hudson River paths, landscaped public space and easy links to Tribeca and the Financial District make it useful when you want open air after dense Downtown streets.

WeatherMatters a lot

Wind and rain can change the value of the riverfront.

01

Use the Hudson path as the route

Battery Park City is easiest to understand from the waterfront. The river path connects public spaces and gives you a clear north-south line without complicated navigation.

02

Pair dense Downtown with open space

After the Financial District, the west-side waterfront can provide a useful change in pace. That contrast is often more valuable than squeezing in another indoor attraction.

03

Continue north toward Tribeca

The riverfront and nearby streets make Tribeca a natural extension. This creates a Lower Manhattan day with less backtracking and more variety.

04

Keep a weather alternative

Exposed riverfront space is highly dependent on conditions. In poor weather, shorten the waterfront portion and move into nearby museums, transit-connected areas or cafés.
