NYC TLC sets a $70 flat fare for yellow taxi trips between Manhattan and JFK Airport. The passenger can also owe the MTA surcharge, improvement surcharge, applicable congestion charges, a weekday rush-hour surcharge and tolls.
For pickups at JFK, the current TLC fare page also lists an airport access fee.
Why Manhattan location matters
Some congestion-related charges depend on whether the trip begins, ends or passes through specified parts of Manhattan. The calculator lets you toggle those conditions rather than pretending every Manhattan destination has the exact same final total.

AirTrain plus subway is usually much cheaper, while AirTrain plus LIRR can offer a faster rail option for some Midtown destinations. A taxi becomes more attractive when several travelers share the fare, luggage is heavy or the destination is inconvenient by rail.
