The 2026 subway fare

How the $35 fare cap changes the math
For eligible subway and local bus rides, the rolling seven-day OMNY cap limits what one rider pays after enough qualifying taps. The calculator compares the normal per-ride total with the $35 cap for a seven-day window.
The cap is tracked per payment method, so switching between different cards or devices can prevent rides from accumulating together.
