Boerum Hill is compact, walkable and unusually easy to combine with several of Brooklyn’s best-known brownstone neighborhoods. It is less about one landmark and more about how smoothly the streets connect food, shops, architecture and nearby transit hubs.
Start with Atlantic Avenue, then leave it
Atlantic Avenue gives you shops, food and a clear east-west spine, but Boerum Hill feels most distinctive on the quieter blocks just off it.
Use the avenue to orient yourself, then spend time on the residential streets.
